Students applying to the Dental Hygiene BAS program are selected on a competitive basis called Selective Admission. Visit the BAS Information page for more info!

To be eligible for employment, graduates must take and pass the following board examinations, and then apply to the Department of Health for a Dental Hygiene License:

  • National Board Dental Hygiene Examination
  • Washington State Dental Hygiene Drug and Law Exam
  • CDCA-WREB-CITA Local Anesthesia Written Exam
  • CDCA-WREB-CITA Local Anesthesia Clinical Exam
  • CDCA-WREB-CITA Restorative Exam
  • CDCA-WREB-CITA Dental Hygiene Exam

The Dental Hygiene program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). This allows students upon graduation to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and all clinical licensing examinations in the state where the graduate plans to practice.

LWTech does not offer every course each quarter. It is the student's responsibility to consult the Class Schedule and work out an individual schedule with an advisor. Any developmental coursework you might be required to complete may increase the program length.
