Public Amenities

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is an invaluable resource to our students and to our Eastside community. Along with job training and professional development programs, we're a full-fledged community resource with job search assistance, library, restaurant, dental clinic, and arboretum, all open to the public.

The college also provides important community services like parent cooperative classes for families looking for support and ideas in raising their children. We encourage students and community members to investigate the services and start to explore all of Lake Washington Institute of Technology has to offer.

Arboretum

The 52,839-square-foot, arboretum is located at the southwest corner of the campus, next to the Environmental Horticulture greenhouses. It contains over 300 plants, including the entire Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association plant list of woody ornamentals. The arboretum is open to the public daily except Sundays and college holidays. Parking is free on campus. Closest parking is in the West and South lots.

Auto Repair Shop

LWTech's Auto Repair shop is located on campus. It does not try to compete with repair shops; therefore, only work needed for training is accepted. Only vehicles less than 12 years old will meet the requirements of training for the current automotive job market.

Campus Art

At Lake Washington Institute of Technology, art lives beyond the classroom. LWTech celebrates diverse artworks and they are available to discover at many locations on campus. Our community's artworks range from 1981 to the present, and include many mediums. Examples of art include:

• Photography: wall murals are located throughout the LWTech buildings
• Sculptures and fine art in various mediums thorughout the campus buildings and grounds.

The majority of the individual pieces found at LWTech are listed and described at the ArtsWA website. Short-term and permanent student-focused art galleries are currently located in the Chef City Grill and throughout LWTech's Library.

You may also visit the campus during hours of operation, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is free on campus.

Campus Dining

LWTech has several options for eating on campus. When classes are in session there is a rotation of food trucks as well as our Culinary Arts and Baking Arts student-run Bakery and Chef City Grill restaurant to solve your lunch woes. Proceeds from the Bakery and Grill help fund scholarships for the students in those programs!

Two retail locations, the Bookstore and Avanti Market also provide quick snack options. A coffee stand will be available soon!

Dental Clinic

The Dental Clinic serves the public, including uninsured and low-income patients. Work is performed by licensed dentists and hygienists and certified dental assistants, assisted by students in the dental hygiene and dental assisting programs. Located in the East Building, E107. Early Learning Center

LWTech's Early Learning Center provides complete on-site child care services for children 16 months and walking through six years of age. With an active, hands-on program, our child care staff promotes learning through experience and accomplishment. Our center provides services for students enrolled in LWTech classes and for state employees. Located on the Southeast corner of the campus. More information: (425) 739-8117 or email.

Facility Rentals

Lake Washington Institute of Technology offers excellent meeting facilities and services at our Kirkland campus only. We offer reasonable rates to your business, professional group, or service club organization.

Parent Education Cooperative Classes

Parent Education Cooperative Classes is a cooperative effort between parents and educators to provide an active learning environment for both parents and children. Parent cooperative classes are available September through June for toddlers and preschoolers. Classes are held in Kirkland, Bothell, Redmond, and Woodinville.

Spring Plant Sale

The Environmental Horticulture program holds its Spring Plant Sale in the month of April. The sale usually occurs over two weekend and attracts hundreds of community members.
