Activities and Events

RISE Center activities are at the heart of the RISE Center. Activities planned for the quarter bring students together and have them explore topics of importance, celebrate community, or learn about a new community. Activities are planned and implemented by the Lion's CREW (creating resources for equity and wellness) student team. If you would like to suggest an activity the RISE Center could sponsor, please contact RISE Center staff. All students are invited to all activities.

This workshop series brings students together on common grounds through fun and informative discussions and activities related to Social Justice. This series fosters a sense of unity and understanding among diverse student groups, encouraging open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving on pressing societal issues. By engaging in these meaningful conversations, students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper awareness of the complexities surrounding social justice, empowering them to become informed advocates for change.

This program establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations that align with the RISE goals, facilitating their engagement with the campus community. These partnerships create valuable opportunities for students to gain real-world experience, expand their networks, and contribute meaningfully to local initiatives. Through this collaborative effort, students can apply their academic knowledge in practical settings, enhancing their learning while making a positive impact in the community.

This invitation-only event, sponsored by the RISE Center, brings students and staff together in celebrating the academic achievement of our diverse student body. The ceremony not only recognizes individual accomplishments but also highlights the collective success of the RISE program in fostering inclusivity and academic excellence. Additionally, this special occasion serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and dedication of our students, inspiring them to continue their journeys beyond graduation as leaders and change-makers in society.
