Selecting A 4-Year College or University

How do you know which 4-year college to go to once you decide to transfer? Are you planning to transfer to a private or public university or college? Would you like a college close to home or far away? What types of bachelors' programs are you interested in? This appointment will give you the information you need on the colleges and universities that fit your interests and what LWTech classes and degrees are accepted for credit.

Transfer Planning

How long will it take you to complete your degree or certificate at Lake Washington Institute of Technology? Is it one year, two years, or even three years from now? By mapping out your required courses and paying attention to 4-year college/university admissions and degree requirements, you will be more likely to transfer when you're ready.

Completing the Admission Application

Completing an application for admission to a bachelor's degree or 4-year college can be overwhelming. Attend this workshop to learn the specific application requirements for admission to the school of your choice.

Visiting a College Campus

You may have heard about the college that you are transferring to numerous times. But have you actually visited the campus yet? By visiting the campus, you will have the opportunity to get a first-hand view of college life. A college catalog or website can only show you so much. To really get a feel for a college, you need to walk around, sit in on a class, meet faculty, and talk to current students. TRIO will help you arrange and prepare for a campus visit.

Financing Your Education

How will you be able to finance your education once accepted to a bachelor's degree program or 4-year college/university? In this workshop, you will learn how to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and explore scholarship opportunities available at your chosen college.
