Hire Lions
Employers interested in creating a free "Hire Lions" powered by Handshake account, can visit the Handshake Employer Registration page. to sign up for an account. After creating your employer account, you will be able to select "Lake Washington Institute of Technology" in the "school section" when posting jobs, paid internships, and employment events for LWTech students and alumni.

Guidelines for Posting Jobs with LWTech
Licensed Businesses
The following are guidelines employers should review before posting a job with LWTech:
- Job must pay at least the current minimum wage (2024: $16.28/hr)
- We require that you have a business license to post a job on our website
- Employer account and job or internship posting(s) approvals for our "Hire Lions" powered
by Handshake online job board must meet the following guidelines:
- Employer must be located within WA State and have available job openings or paid internships within WA State and this must be indicated in company profile address
- OR is located outside of WA State but has available job openings or paid internships in WA State (must be indicated in job or internship posting)
- OR has 100% remote paid opportunities available (must be indicated in job or internship posting)
- We do not accept the following jobs:
- Multi-level marketing opportunities
- Commission-only jobs
- Opportunities that require fees for training or start-up, or that require the prospective employee to purchase products or equipment prior to earning a minimum wage
- Some positions will be posted only on designated Career Services bulletin board(s)
on campus:
- In-home temporary jobs
- Independent contractor positions (Vendor or 1099)
- Positions posted must comply with all federal and state affirmative action and equal employment opportunity regulations
- We reserve the right to turn down any opportunity for valid reasons
- Organizations recruiting through LWTech Career Services agree to contact Career Services when their position is filled by any LWTech student or graduate.
Non-Licensed (In-Home Businesses)
If you are posting an in-home job and you are not a licensed business (i.e. babysitter, yard maintenance, etc.), use our Job Order Form Your position will be posted on the Career Services job posting bulletin board in the East Mall ONLY (not online), AND:
- We will make every attempt to post your job within 24 hours.
- All jobs will be posted for 30 days, unless otherwise indicated on the order form.
Establishing Internships and Cooperative Work Experience
LWTech students complete internships in local businesses as part of their program course work. Employers work directly with program instructors and students to establish an internship site. For more information or to list your company as a potential site, contact the Career Services at (425) 739-8132 or contact program instructors directly by using LWTech's Staff Directory.
Other Ways to Connect with LWTech Students and Graduates
Participate in Employment-related events or on our employer panels held throughout the year including:
- Participating in job fairs and employer panels
- Partnering with the college by participating on a program advisory board
- Assisting Lake Washington Tech students in preparing for work by conducting mock interviews, providing resume critiques, and making presentations to individual classes
