International Student High School Completion

LWTech's High School Completion Program offers students an opportunity to earn both high school and college credits at the same time. Students earn a Washington State US high school diploma that is recognized around the world.

Admission Requirements

Minimum Age Requirements

High School Completion is open to all students 16 years or older by the time they enter the program. Note that students do not need to be 16 years old to apply—students who are 15 years old, but will turn 16 by the start date of the specific quarter when they intend to start the program can submit an application.

Additional Requirements

  • Students must have completed the equivalent of 9th grade.
  • Complete LWTech's International Student Application procedures. English Proficiency requirements are outlined on the application and website.
  • Submit an official high school transcript (in English) with your application showing 9th grade classes and scores.
  • All LWTech academic degree and certificate programs require English proficiency. Students who have not attained English proficiency will be accepted to our Intensive English Program (IEP). IEP offers a pathway for entrance to our academic degree programs.

Meeting English Proficiency Requirements

The English Language Requirements are the same as for college academic programs. Students coming to LWTech without the minimum English proficiency will be accepted to our Intensive English Language Program.

Transcripts

You must submit transcripts for evaluation for all completed coursework that is equivalent to US grade levels 9, 10, 11 and 12 (or any of those levels that you have completed). Transcripts must be translated and can be submitted along with your application. Please note, all math classes must be specifically translated into the following math subjects: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-calculus, etc. Transcripts will be evaluated by the High School Completion Personnel

High School Completion Timeline

Students who earn an associate degree (AAS or AAS-T) at LWTech may request the high school diploma from LWTech. Earn then ask, simple as that! The State of Washington has agreed that earning the associate degree signifies a student has mastered a body of knowledge at least equivalent to the requirements of a high school diploma.
