Workforce Development

LWTech offers several federal and state funded programs through Workforce Development (WFD) that may provide assistance with tuition, books, tools, supplies, career and educational advising, and individualized support services, depending on qualifications. These funding opportunities may be awarded in addition to student financial aid. 

Take the Workforce Development Funding Eligibility Online Survey to determine if you qualify. There are several services offered to eligible students. Click on the links below and learn more.

  • Worker Retraining - Funding and support for eligible individuals in career transition such as laid-off or furloughed workers, displaced homemakers, vulnerable workers, and formerly self-employed individuals. Military veterans discharged in the last 48 months, and active duty military with separation orders, may be eligible for help with the cost of books, tools, and supplies
  • BFET - Funding and advising for students receiving federal food assistance (food stamps).
  • Opportunity Grant Scholarship - Funding and advising for students that are Washington State residents, do not have a prior degree, are income-eligible, AND are currently enrolled in one of the following programs: Accounting, Baking Arts, Business Technology, Computing & Software Development, Computer Security & Network Technology, Health Sciences, or I-BEST.
  • WorkFirst - Funding and advising for students who are referred from DSHS and are receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
