Information Technology: Computing and Software Development BAS admission: Fall 2024

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities at the associate degree level and at the baccalaureate level.

Application Deadlines

Qualified students accepted on a rolling basis until the program is filled; early applications are encouraged by the preferred deadline.

Quarter Start: Fall 2024

  • Priority Deadline: May 20, 2024
  • Rolling Deadline: August 26, 2024

Rolling Admission process will be used for applications received after May 20, 2024.

Locating the Application

The Computing and Software Development BAS application is an online application.

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must have earned an Applied Associate Degree, or equivalent, from an accredited institution in a computer science, software, or programming related field.
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA cumulative across all college coursework.
  • Official Transcripts documenting all prerequisite courses at a college other than LWTech must be sent to LWTech Enrollment Services office.

Required Courses for Application

Completion of 25 credits of College-level General Education prerequisite courses with a minimum 2.0 GPA in each of the following classes:

  • English Composition: 5 credits (ENGL& 101 or equivalent)
  • Quantitative & Symbolic Reasoning: 10 credits (MATH&142 Pre-Calculus II or higher level Calculus course AND CS 143 Computer Science II Java or equivalent Computer Programming II course)
  • Social Sciences: 5 credits
  • Humanities: 5 credits

Students who have courses to complete at the time of admission may be admitted conditionally.

Online Application

Once your application is completed, make sure to click the Submit Application button on the last page. If you do not submit your application, the application is considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.

 

Checking Application Status

You can check on your application status by logging into the Self-Service Center. Decisions are posted in the Self-Service Center and will be emailed to you via your LWTech student email.

If you are offered admission, you must complete and submit a form to accept the offer of admission. Instructions will be emailed to you with your application decision.

 

Application Decision Status

The final decision status will be available on your online account. You can check decision status by logging into your Self-Service Center. To accept the offer of admission, you must return an accept/decline form. Click Respond in the top-right of this letter and submit online. If you experience any difficulty with this form, please email email Selective Admission or call (425) 739-8104 to get assistance.

 

Transferring Credits To LWTech

Selective Admission Programs require Official Transcripts from every college where you took any required classes. If you have an International Transcript, we are happy to accept the Course-by-Course Evaluation from an evaluation agency.  You can find additional information on our Transferring to LWTech page.

Financial Aid takes significant time to process; please apply early before you apply to the program so that you are not delayed in receiving funding.

 

Computing and Software Development Information Session

All are invited to come learn about LWTech’s newest applied bachelors degree, in Computer Software Development. College faculty and staff will share information about the degree and the jobs it prepares graduates for. We will explain the application process and answer questions. No RSVP required to attend. All information sessions are virtual via Microsoft Teams.

These info sessions cover two separate bachelor's degrees: Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing Software Development and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. We'll address questions regarding the distinctions between these programs.
