LWTech Board of Trustees Award Tenure to Nine Faculty Members

LWTech’s Board of Trustees awarded tenure to nine faculty members on March 10, 2025: Dr. Johnny Calavitta, Amber Chiozza, Danette Lindeman, Wendi Nancarrow-Carter, Dr. Karin Navarro, Paul Redman, Dr. Aurora Turgeon, Ty Underwood, and Nomita Yadav.  

Dr. Calavitta teaches English in our Basic and General Education program, and holds a PhD in English from the University of Washington; Chiozza teaches several drawing and painting courses in our Illustrations program, and holds an MFA Printmaking & Book Arts from the University of the Arts; Danette Lindeman teaches the Dental Hygiene program and holds an Master of Education in Instructional Design. She also pursed her AAS in Dental Hygiene from LWTech; Nancarrow-Carter is an Associate Professor who teaches in our Behavioral and Social Service program, and holds Master of Science, Clinical Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago – School of Social Work; Navarro leads the Early Childhood Education Program at LWTech and also holds an EdD in Leadership for Educational Equity from the University of California; Redman teaches pre-college and college-level English courses at LWTech and holds a Master of Arts in English; Dr. Turgeon teaches Chemistry and holds a Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry; Underwood leads the Digital Gaming and Interactive Media program at LWTech and holds a BFA in Interactive Design and Game Development; Yadav teaches in the Social Science program, and holds a Master of Philosophy in Sociology. 

“Monday, March 10, 2025, was an important day for the college. Over the course of two Board meetings, the Trustees fulfilled one of their key responsibilities in governing the college by awarding tenure to nine inspirational faculty members. These educators have demonstrated their commitment to student success by completing a comprehensive and rigorous three-year tenure process,” said Dr. Amy Morrison, president of LWTech. “Our newly tenured professors have strengthened their programs, fostered lasting industry and campus relationships, and demonstrated unwavering dedication to student success. Their innovative approaches empower students to reach their full potential while advancing their programs and departments”, said Dr. Amy Morrison, President of LWTech.
