Eligibility
You may qualify for the Workforce Development Funding programs that provide financial assistance for educational expenses to those who meet eligibility guidelines. Please note, awards are dependent on funding availability.
- You are receiving or eligible for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits
AND/OR - You are receiving federal food assistance
AND - Enrolled in a professional technical program, LWTech transfer degree, and/or basic
skills courses
AND - Applied for financial aid (FAFSA /WAFSA)

- What are unemployment benefits?
- Unemployment benefits provide you with temporary income when you lose your job through no fault of your own.
- The money partly replaces your lost earnings and helps you pay expenses while looking for new work.

Federal Food Assistance
- What is federal food assistance?
- The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called Basic Food in Washington, helps income-eligible individuals and families make ends meet by providing monthly benefits to buy food.
- Federal food assistance will enable you to enroll in the LWTech Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) program which provides support and funding for educational expenses (tuition, books, and supplies).
