Academic Advising
TRIO Advisors provide academic advising and mentoring for your general education and
program courses. TRIO Advisors also assist you in creating an academic plan to determine
which courses you need to graduate; they are resource and a guide to help you understand
the college process and know what steps to take from day one until you graduate and
beyond. TRIO Advisors can help LWTech students with the following:
- Academic planning – figuring out the best program to achieve your career/transfer goals and help determine which classes to take each quarter until graduation
- Faculty referrals – connecting students with their program faculty
- Referrals to other resources on and off campus
- Mentor and guide to help students understand college processes and requirements
- Maximizing student learning style so they can be successful with any instructor in any class
