Mission and Goals

The Learning Lab’s mission is to increase the completion rates of LWTech students using a Universal Design for Learning approach.

We do this by providing support services such as:

  • Drop-in tutoring
  • Study groups
  • SMART Board
  • Separate study room*
  • Up-to-date technology
  • Computer lab
  • Current textbooks*
  • Calculators, iPads, laptops, headphones *
  • Resources and supplies

*Resources available to check-out and use in The Lab. Study room available for reservation.

Our goal is to provide support to LWTech students as they work toward completing their programs.

The Learning Lab’s tutoring program is internationally certified through the College Reading & Learning Association

2016 Summer Quarter Hours & Information

Beginning July 5th, The Learning Lab will be the only drop-in tutoring center on Kirkland campus.

  • Drop-in tutoring is available for math, science, English, and select program classes.
  • Open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Drop-in tutoring available Monday - Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Extended afternoon and evening drop-in tutoring hours Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Class specific times available in The Learning Lab, East Building, E214.

The enclosed materials were compiled through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. However, the contents have not been reviewed by the Department and no endorsement should be inferred. The Lake Washington Institute of Technology Student Support Services TRIO Projects are 100% federally funded annually at $450,884.
